n/a		· Nóta	"LSO: The Parish of Kiltoghert is called by the Irish Cill Táchúrc (recte Tathchomharc) and tradition says that Saint Tachoork was the original founder of the Parish Church, which was a Monastic one. This seems to be the same as the holy man who left his name in Clondachork in Doe…. 105/215 [The word Tamhnach which occurred so many hundred times in ulster, and which we have variously anglicized Tawny, Tawnagh, Tamny, Tavenagh, etc., is here understodd to signify a plain field, which is the meaning I always thought was anciently attached to the word. It was so understood in Ulster also not many years ago, as we find that they have translated Tawnyeeve, the name of a Town in the County of Down, into Saint-Field. 105/215] *“Topographical Fragments from the Franciscan Library” Celtica I, 65.
